Candied Yams

Ingredients

    Candied Yams
  • 4 cups water
  • 4 cups sugar
  • 1/2 lb. margarine or butter
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 10 medium or 8 lbs. peeled sweet potatoes, cut in 2-inch round slices or lengthwise

Boil first 5 ingredients until they look like syrup. Add sweet potatoes. Cook until tender.
