10-Minute Holiday Cookies in a Jar

Equipment
- 1 wide mouth quart size canning jar per gift
- measuring cups and spoons
Ingredients
Mix in a Jar:
- 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup old fashioned oats
- 1/3 cup M & M chocolate candies red and green, preferable
- 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
- 2/3 cup sugar
Cookie Recipe
- 1/2- cup butter or margarine; melted
- 2 large eggs beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions
- In a quart-sized mason jar, layer the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, oats, chocolate candies, brown sugar and sugar, packing each layer tightly.

- Empty jar of cookie mix into a mixing bowl; mix well. Add 1/2-cup butter or margarine, melted, 2 beaten eggs and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Mix until blended.
- Roll into 1-inch balls, and place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 375 degrees until edges are lightly browned, about 12 to 14 minutes.
- Cool on cookie sheet for five minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
- Makes: 1 dozen cookies
