Ingredients

  • 2-1/2 cups flour
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 16 oz applesauce jar (unsweetened)
  • 3/4 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup nuts chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Grease and flour 9x13 cake pan.
  • Combine the first 7 ingredients. In a mixer beat butter 30 seconds and add sugar continue beating until well mixed. Add eggs one at a time beating between each egg. Add dry ingredients and applesauce alternating to beat into mixture on low speed after each addition. Stir in raisins and nuts.
