Baked Ziti with Italian Baking Sauce

Ingredients

  • cooking spray
  • 1/4 cup olive oil extra virgin
  • 1 medium white onion 1 cup, diced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 dash salt to taste
  • 1 dash black pepper to taste freshly ground
  • 1 jar Italian Baking Sauce Barilla
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 box Ziti Barilla
  • 4 cups mozzarella cheese 16 ounces, shredded

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Bring a large pot of water to boil.
  • Grease or Spray a 13x9 inch baking dish.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet. Add onion; sauté until golden. Add ground beef and cook until brown. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Add Italian Baking Sauce and water. Simmer 5-10 minutes or until excess water evaporates.
  • Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and add pasta to skillet. Add 2 cups of shredded cheese and mix well.
  • Transfer to baking dish. Top with remaining cheese. Bake 10 - 20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly
  • Servings: 4-6
