In bowl, cream margarine with brown sugar. Beat in egg, then maple syrup and wine. In another bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and nutmeg. Beat into maple syrup mixture then stir in walnuts.
Turn the batter into a greased and floured 9 x 5 inch loaf pan. Bake cake at 350° for 40 minutes or until it tests done with toothpick. Transfer to rack to cool.
