  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 can pumpkin 16 oz
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1-1/2 cups oats uncooked
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

Orange Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 teaspoons orange juice
  • 3/4 teaspoon grated orange peel


  • Heat oven to 350°. Grease and flour 10-inch bundt cake pan.


  • Beat sugar and shortening until fluffy. Mix in pumpkin, eggs and water. Stir in remaining cake ingredients; mix well.
  • Spread in to pan and bake for 60-70 minutes or until done.
  • Cool 10 minutes and remove from the pan. Cool completely on rack.


  • Mix all ingredients until smooth and drizzle over cake.
  • Serves 16
