Hanna’s Favorite French Toast

Stovetop Time: 6 minutes
Minimum Start to Finish: 11 minutes
Times are approximate

2 eggs, beaten
2 tablespoons milk
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon butter, divided
4 slices honey wheat bread
Garnish: creamy peanut butter, maple syrup, powdered sugar

In a shallow dish, beat eggs with milk, sugar, cinnamon and vanilla; set aside.

Melt half of butter in a skillet over medium heat.

Dip 2 bread slices in egg mixture, coating well on both sides; add to skillet. Cook for about 2 minutes, until golden; turn and cook other side. Repeat with remaining butter and bread.

Serve slices topped with peanut butter and maple syrup; sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Makes 4 servings.
