Fruit Cobbler

1/2 cup butter
1 cup flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
2 cups canned fruit, well drained

Melt butter in 2 quart casserole.

Sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt into mixing bowl (for those of you who use self-rising flour just mix it and sugar). Stir in milk, then put into pan. Do not stir. Sprinkle fruit on top. Do not stir.

Bake 350° for 30-40 minutes. Bake until batter covers fruit and crust browns.

Serve warm with cream, whipped cream, ice cream or a fruit sauce (good use for jam or jelly that didn’t thicken)

Makes 4 to 6 servings. Easily doubled.

Notes:
Dry ingredients can be bagged and frozen or put into pantry.

You can use canned pie filling, canned apples, peaches, cherries, blueberries, etc.
