Ingredients

  • 2 lbs beef steak lean or roast
  • 2 large green peppers sliced
  • 1 cup fresh button mushrooms cut in half, if large or left whole if small in size
  • 2 medium onions sliced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons oyster flavored sauce optional
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 2 large tomatoes whole peeled sliced into 6ths, optional

Instructions

  • Cut the steak into bite sized pieces.
  • Place vegetables in the bottom of the crockpot; place the beef on top of the vegetables. Add the rest of the ingredients over top.
  • Cover and cook on low 8-10 hours or high for 4 hours.
  • Add tomatoes just before thickening. When cooked to desired tenderness, thicken with a flour paste or 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water, as needed.
  • Serves 8
