Gourmet Potatoes

6 medium potatoes
1 large onion
1 clove garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup sour cream

Peel potatoes, cut into quarters. Cover with water and bring to a boil. Slice onion and add to potatoes. Mince garlic and add to potatoes. Simmer all until potatoes are tender, 20 to 25 minutes.

Drain off water and beat slowly with mixer until all lumps are gone. Add sour cream and butter.

Serve.
