1 cup sugar
2 cups sifted flour
1 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups powdered or chopped walnuts
Use a 1 quart wide mouthed jar.
Mix the sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt together and pour in the jar. Place the nuts into a resealable bag and place on top of mix. Seal, decorate and attach the recipe tag.
Cinnamon Bar Cookies
You will need:
1 cup butter, (2 sticks)
1 egg, yolk separated from white
Preheat oven to 325°. Grease and flour a 15 1/2×10 1/2×1″ baking pan.
Beat the butter and egg yolk together.
Remove the nut bag from the jar and set aside.
Add the jar ingredients to the butter mixture and mix well. Press the batter into the pan. Beat the egg white until foamy and spread sparingly over top of the batter. Sprinkle the nuts on top and press on.
Bake for 30 minutes. Cut into bars.
