Braised Pork Chops with Grapefruit

4 (1” thick) pork chops
Flour
2 tablespoons sweet butter
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 small onions, sliced, separated into rings
2 pears, cored, quartered
1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon dried marjoram
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 grapefruit or 2 tangelos, peeled, sectioned

Flour chops liberally. Heat butter and oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Brown chops on both sides.

Remove chops and saute onions. Return chops. Add pears and water. Sprinkle with marjoram and cinnamon. Cook over low heat 75 minutes until chops are tender and sauce is thickened.

Add grapefruit and heat through.

Serve immediately.
