1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1 medium (1 cup) white onion, diced
1 pound ground beef
to taste salt
to taste freshly ground black pepper
1 jar Barilla Italian Baking Sauce
1 cup water
1 box Barilla Ziti
4 cups (16 ounces) mozzarella cheese, shredded
Preheat oven to 350°.
Bring a large pot of water to boil.
Grease or Spray a 13×9 inch baking dish.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet. Add onion; sauté until golden. Add ground beef and cook until brown. Season with salt and pepper.
Add Italian Baking Sauce and water. Simmer 5-10 minutes or until excess water evaporates.
Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and add pasta to skillet. Add 2 cups of shredded cheese and mix well.
Transfer to baking dish. Top with remaining cheese. Bake 10 -20 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly
